Made with fragrant tea leaves from Shizuoka, one of Japan’s most renowned tea-growing regions, cedar from the Izu Peninsula, natural water from Mt. Fuji, and a small amount of tabu wood as a natural binder, these stick-type incense are carefully handcrafted one by one using only natural ingredients.
No combustion agents, preservatives, dyes, synthetic fragrances, or other additives are used.
Tea is usually enjoyed by extracting its aroma with hot water. However, incense burns at a much higher temperature than tea leaves are normally suited for, making it extremely difficult to bring out the delicate scent of green tea.
At izuko fragrance, several types of tea leaves selected for incense-making are blended together, and the grinding level of each tea leaf is carefully adjusted to preserve the natural aroma of the tea as much as possible.
Aged cedar grown in the rich natural environment of the Izu Peninsula is then added to create a unique fragrance. The result is a scent with the roasted warmth of tea, the deep woody aroma of cedar, subtle green notes of Japanese green tea, and a gentle rounded sweetness in the background.
